International Max Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling IMPRS-ESM

The IMPRS-ESM is operated jointly through a strong scientific cooperation between the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, the University of Hamburg (represented by institutes of the Centre for Marine and Climate Research (ZMK) in addition to a number of faculties), and four internationally recognized German research institutes. In cooperation with four other German research institutes, they provide the specific educational and research-related opportunities and facilities for doctoral studies within the IMPRS-ESM, and care for the necessary interactions of all participants. Studies are embedded in ongoing research projects or independent studies under the supervision of scientists from the participating institutes. In close cooperation the partners involved in the present project will help interlink the subject matters of individual doctoral theses and will encourage synergetic efforts between the different students.
