Faculty of Management and Economics
The Faculty of Management and Economics is working on alternative mechanisms which can be used to control environmental externalities. These include (1) government-imposed taxes and subsidies, (2) private bargaining, (3) legal remedies such as liability rules and (4) the sale or auctioning of rights to impose externalites. Another research area is the question of endogenous growth and sustainable development. The intention is to integrate energy, natural resources, and environmental pollution into long-run growth models with endogenous technological progress.
